The Silo Olive Oil
This extra virgin olive oil commemorates the centennial of the Silo, a wood-shingled campus landmark that includes a pub, cafe and eateries, the Silo was the site of the first Picnic Day in 1909. Our Silo 2008 olive oil echoes the flavor of that era by featuring five olive varieties commonly planted in California in the early 20th Century. We carefully harvested the old campus in November and December, and milled the fruit within twenty-four hours of harvest. Paul Vossen, Alexandra Dvarenne and Julie Menge, top olive oil sensory experts, have creatred a smooth, food-friendly blend with complexity and verve. A soft and silky oil with a spicy aroma.
Tasting notes:
